Julia C. Alter holds an MFA in Poetry from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. Her poetry has been nominated several times for the Pushcart Prize, and appears in numerous journals and anthologies. Her debut full-length collection, Some Dark Familiar (Green Writers Press, 2024), was selected by Matthew Olzmann as the winner of the 2023 Sundog Poetry Book Award, and was a finalist for the 2024 Vermont Book Award in Poetry. She lives in Vermont with her son.
